Spring Cleaning And You

Living in Northwest Indiana, here the winters are really cold and we get a lot of snow.  During the winter months we have all windows and doors closed to keep the cold out. As the months go by holidays pass and we see spring getting closer and the days getting nicer we get into the spring cleaning mood.  We start to open the windows and door to let the fresh air circulate the house and get the air flowing through.  Ahhhh, fresh air is the best and so relaxing. Right? Well i want to share with all of you a few tips, tricks and talk about some cleaning product that are good for you and the environment to make your spring cleaning easier and help you with your spring cleaning days.

Spring cleaning start when spring gets here usually in March. But if you are like me and are most of the time busy with work, school, kids and everyday chores. Sometimes spring cleaning can go beyond March.  We have to plan  even for our spring cleaning. It can take time to finish the cleaning and the pleasure comes after the work is finished.

You can create a  guide or a checklist that helps you keep track of the chores you have and check off one item at a time. The check list can be  created many different ways. The way i like to make the checklist is by room.  The first  room can be anyone you choose.  Let’s take the kitchen for example and then under that heading you can put the items you need to do in the kitchen and then check each one of them off at a time.  For cleaning the kitchen you can itemize them such as clean out the fridge and freezer, clean the oven etc.

Below is a list i have found by http://simplykierste.com.  I thought this one was great. It easy  to follow and straightforward. You can add or remove items to suit your cleaning  items.Once you have your list ready now it is time to plan on where to get started.  Are you going to do it on certain days. Do you prefer the weekends when the kids are home so they can help you with your spring cleaning or on the weekdays when they are not home? I like Saturdays because everyone is home and we all help around the house with spring cleaning.

Spring Cleaninig

Now it’s time to get prepared for Spring Cleaninig. Make sure you have everything you need to clean before you get started. Cleaning products and a caddy to carry all of the cleaning products you may need to carry from room to room. That makes it a whole lot easier.  If you need to purchase new batteries or clean out or buy a new air filter or bags for your vacuum, you want to get these things done before you start cleaning so you won’t have to stop and go to the store to buy them.

Choosing the right cleaners

I believe in choosing the right cleaning products is important.  There are a lot of cleaning products out there.  We have different name brands, Like Pine-Sol, Clorox, Mr. Clean, Lysol and Kaboom, to make a few.  There a lot other brands out there.  I personally like to go for the products that are safe for you and the environment. We have families that we take care of and want only the best for them.  Some of the major brands have the green products that are safer for the environment and your health.  You can look around and choose the ones that you prefer.  If you have already a specific brand or cleaning product that you currently use that is great. The cleaning products I choose for me and my family are located HERE. I only choose the best for me and my family.

Now it’s time to get cleaning. First choose the room you would like to get started with and go for it. Go from room to room and check it off  your list.  Sometimes, you just need a few friendly words of encouragement to help you tackle whatever challenge that comes with spring cleaning, and with the new season upon us, a few motivational quotes to help you start your spring cleaning could just be exactly what you need right now. Springtime means many beautiful things: flowers, baby animals, temperatures above freezing, and, after some serious pep-talking and motivation, a freshly cleaned home.
